About Forgotten Ashes

Each and every year, cremated remains go unclaimed at funeral homes, cremation providers, and local-state agencies throughout the United States (International listings accepted). This happens for multiple reasons. Often times, family members who have the legal right to claim these cremated remains, are unaware that they have never been picked up, and assume them to have long been buried, entombed, or scattered in a special place. In other cases, the relative could have been estranged or simply living in another state and no notice of death was ever given. Consider also those who fell ill in a distant location or had been institutionalized or incarcerated.

In an effort to help families find other family members cremated remains, a central database has been created right here at ForgottenAshes.com, containing the names of the cremated as well as possible survivor names. The Forgotten Ashes database, combined with its power to share listings easily on social networks, will enable some of these Forgotten Ashes to be claimed as they should have been years ago. Here at ForgottenAshes.com, we make it simple for funeral homes and cremation providers to create list’s within our online database.

This has never been done before and is a completely unique service with the single purpose of bringing long separated family members and their loved ones cremated, together again, thus enabling truly final disposition to take place. The Founder of ForgottenAshes.com, Michael P. Neal, is a Funeral Director in Pennsylvania. Having served several thousands of families over the course of his career, Michael has witnessed this ongoing problem in his industry for many years. Additionally, he has heard directly from friends and associates across America that they too are aware of the problem but did not know what to do about it.
